The Teragen are an organization dedicated to the idea that novas have transcended baseline humanity, and have a responsibility to themselves as individuals to explore the full extent of their potential, without being bound by human limits or laws. Individual members are referred to as Terats.[1]
They range from favoring nova rights, to nova supremacy, to outright terrorism.
History[]
Although the philosophy of Teras had been developed long beforehand, it wasn't a household name until Halloween 2023, a mere month after the São Paulo Blast, when a nova named Divis Mal hijacked broadcasts all over the world. Mal outlined the basis of Teras and its (and his) direct opposition to the Zurich Accord, which declared all novas to be human. Mal said he considered the Accord devoid of merit and wholly null, a phrase which would cause the media to name the speech "the Null Manifesto."
Soon after, a movement of novas dedicated to Teras collected together under the "Teragen" name.
Organization[]
A number of different factions and philosophies have arisen since the founding of the Teragen. Not all Terats claim membership in a faction -- Dr. Spenser Balmer has Teragen sympathies, for example, but the only faction he is known to be a member of is Team Tomorrow.
- The Pantheon are the inner circle invited to attend Divis Mal when he holds court. The members are often leaders of their own respective factions.
- The Aberrants are angry and violent, and often the most inhuman-looking of the Teragen. When someone thinks of the Teragen as a bunch of monsters, they're probably thinking of the Aberrants.
- The Cultus Nova espouse the belief that the end goal of nova-hood is apotheosis.
- The Network recognize the social power of relationships. Although each nova is an individual like no other, there is strength in unity.
- The Pandaimonion (from the Greek Pan="all" and daimon="guiding spirit") splintered off from the Cultus Nova. What use is a god without worshippers? Although they put on a philosophical face, the group is more often an excuse for hedonism and cults of personality.
Background Information[]
- The Teragen were first seen in Aberrant 1st Edition. Although individual factions have shuffled around, the larger organization largely unchanged from its 1e appearance.
- The symbol is a black ∅, the mathematical "null" symbol.
