Created in 2022, the OpNet (optical network) is the replacement for the Internet created by the newer high-speed, high-bandwidth eufiber cable data network and high-capacity wireless transmission. When the world adapted to the OpNet, it was subject to the Crash.[1]
History[]
Encryption[]
There are two standard types of encryption:
- SPE (Standard Privacy Encryption) is primarily used by individuals.
- DSE (Dedicated Security Encryption) is used by military, governments, corporations, and other private entities. It's an order of magnitude more secure than SPE.
A message sent under DSE cannot be decrypted using a computer limited to SPE encryption; a corporation (with DSE) sending an email to an individual (SPE) will have to use SPE so the individual can read it.
Higher levels of encryption exist, such as RPH/x9 (Really Pretty Hidden), which is used for highly covert or secure organizations or individuals: between members of the Æon Council or Section Minerva, for example.
