Leviathans are the first class of jump ship, built after the disappearance of the Upeo wa Macho. Approximately 1500 meters long, these biotech freighters were created by humans working with the Qin in order to reconnect humanity with its colonies.
There's growing evidence that Leviathans are conscious, intelligent creatures.[1]
Leviathans are powered by powerful computers called Tessers.[2]
History[]
- 2119: An Aberrant attack on the Mazat research station orbiting Luna destroys a prototype for the new Leviathans, threatening to end the project. After Orgotek reveals a secret backup facility under Thompson Crater, the Leviathan project is simply set back several months.[3][4]
- Thanks to the development of the Leviathans, researchers manage to duplicate the ISRAn jump rings, and use of them proliferates throughout settled space.[5]
- 2122: The first Leviathans are completed allowing humanity to return to the stars and reconnect with its lost colonies.[3][6]
- After long-range probes detected a massive object 12 light-years away heading for Earth at the speed of light, one of the first Leviathan flights results in first contact with the Coalition Ark. The event ends with the damaged ship fleeing the Ark, a quarter of its crew killed.[3][7]
- A Leviathan reconnects with Far Nyumba, equipped with a vessel capable of withstanding Mgitu's atmospheric pressure to investigate the gas giant's newly-discovered floating artifacts.[8][9]
- The jump ship Mictlan encounters a Breach while conveying a number of sub-Aberrant mutants.[10]
- Orgotek begins construction on a secondary Leviathan dock orbiting Ganymede, dubbed "Project Plain Site," equipped with advanced biotech cloaks.[11]
