The Esoteric Order of the Æons is an organization founded in the 1880s to openly share their discoveries with the world, without endorsing any religion, political group, or imperial power.

History

The Esoteric Order of the Æons was a reformulation of the Esoteric Egyptian Explorers' Society. The core of the Society was four associates who gathered bimonthly in order to discuss their recent discoveries at archaeological digs in Egypt.

Native Egyptian translator Hiram Hoffman, after being frequently consulted for his expertise, became frustrated with the concept of "hidden knowledge," and suggested transforming the Society in to an order which freely shares its knowledge with the world. Gretchen Benson further suggested that they fund their own expeditions and write about their exploits. The others agreed, and the Esoteric Order was born.
