Contracts, binding agreements to kill a target, are the fundamental building block of Assassin society.[1]

What is a Contract?[]

The Service receives offers, vets them, and distributes them to each Society. Though Assassins are allowed to take personal contracts. Most often contracts are delivered via handwritten letters to their lodgings in a Hotel Asylia, but when out in the field this method may vary.

Accepting a Contract is binding, and trying to renege on a Contract is terms to be marked Anathema.

Daylight Contracts[]

Rarely taken by Assassins as doing so violates the Code. Those who take Daylight Contracts from Twilight contacts keep it to themselves for fear of being marked Anathema.

Since the Service vets all contracts the likelihood of Daylight targets being framed as Twilight is rare, but not impossible. If a target is discovered to be innocent, the Service treats assassinating the client as fulfilling the contract.

Twilight Contracts[]

Most Contract targets are people in Twilight. They are not typically higher ups or kingpins, but often are in the middle of the heirarchy. Their deaths rarely become spectacles and don't often risk exposure. Most in Twilight don't wish to be the focus of the Shadow's wrath.

Shadow Contracts[]

The most dangerous contracts to take. These contracts target Assassins themselves, typically those who are Anathema. The risk is great, but the rewards are also great.
